Horizontal aluminium slats in the top frame give a plain Colorbond fence a contemporary edge – the go-to choice for new homes and renovations.
A slat-top Colorbond fence pairs standard Colorbond sheets with a 250 mm horizontal aluminium slat panel in a 300 mm top frame. The slats have small gaps, so you keep most of your privacy while the fence looks lighter and more architectural than solid sheeting to full height.
Build it as a new fence at 1.8 m or 2.1 m total height, or add slats to your existing Colorbond fence as a 300 mm or 600 mm height extension. Slats, frame and sheets can each be a different colour at no extra cost – Monument slats on a Surfmist fence is a popular modern pairing.

Common questions
How private is a slat top?
The slats have small gaps, so a slat top is less private than louvres or solid sheet but more open and modern. If privacy at the top of the fence matters most, choose louvres.
Are the slats aluminium?
Yes – powder-coated aluminium slats colour-matched to Colorbond colours, so they will not rust.
